Camosun College President Sherri Bell has issued this statement following today’s announcement by the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) to cancel the 2020/21 athletic season.

Chargers women’s basketball team finishes fourth while men collect back-to-back Bronze

Despite a hard fought championship, the Chargers women fell to the Douglas Royals in the Bronze Medal Game of the 2020 PACWEST Provincial Basketball Championships, ending their season with a fourth-place overall finish. The Chargers men also made their way to the Bronze Medal Game where they defeated Okanagan College to finish as back-to-back Bronze Medalists.

The Camosun College Chargers will battle for gold against the nation’s best at the 2020 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Volleyball Championships, hosted by Cégep Garneau in Quebec City, March 11-14. Arriving at the event as one of two wildcards, the Chargers take on the championship hosts, Élans de Garneau, in the quarterfinal round..
