Arson incident at Interurban campus

Early Sunday morning, arson incidents along with vandalism and physical damage occurred in four buildings at the Interurban campus. Investigations continue with both the fire and police departments. We are working now to ascertain the full impact of the damage. Our first concern is the health and safety of all employees and students and minimizing the impact on student courses and programs.

Lynelle Yutani's first job in Canada after moving to Victoria from Wyoming in 2010 was working with the BC Cancer Agency's mobile mammography screening program.

"It was a wonderful job. I travelled extensively throughout the BC Interior helping people," she says. "And it was a really great antidote for the health care system in the US, because most screenings in Canada are covered under our medial services plan and with that single payer system, every ounce of prevention saves on cure."

To better identify and respond to workforce training requirements, and as part of its commitments on the AJISS program, Thales Canada has signed an agreement with Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), in partnership with Camosun College in British Columbia, to complete a bi-coastal analysis of the in-service support supply chain. Thales is the prime contractor for Canada’s AJISS program that will support the Royal Canadian Navy’s Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and Joint Support Ships built under the National Shipbuilding Strategy.

The Camosun Chargers Men’s Volleyball team completed a historic season in 2017-18, winning the PACWEST conference title for a fourth consecutive year, a feat not accomplished since the inception of the league in 1971. Camosun receives $200,000 funding from province to support tech programs

Camosun College has been awarded $200,000 in start-up funding from the provincial Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training to support increased access to web technology and engineering graphics certificate programs. The new funding will allow Camosun to increase the capacity of these programs, adding 40 new spaces by the 2019/20 academic year.
