Join the Camosun College Chargers men's and women's basketball coaches and student-athletes for an evening of food and entertainment at the Chargers 4th Annual Tip-Off Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, September 24 at the Harbour Towers Hotel.
This year, the Chargers are pleased to present Robert Bettauer, the new CEO of the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE), as their guest speaker.
As a former professional athlete, Olympic coach, and senior sports executive as well as through on-going high profile work in the media and on major sport system projects, Robert has established a highly experienced record of on-going success and achievement. His engagement with sport has focused on athlete and coach development including an emphasis on developing the structures and mechanisms required to provide support in critical areas such as training, competition, facilities and strategic management.
Robert’s previous role before coming to PISE was the President of Vanchen Sports, a private sport consulting business that provided a range of services and expertise in the development and management of sport.  Prior to operating Vanchen Sports, Robert was the Founding President and CEO of the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario and as the Director of Player Development/Sport Development at Tennis Canada.
Active in his local community as well as the sport community, Robert is the current Chair of the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame Committee and is a past member of the Canadian Olympic Committee Board of Directors.Â
The Chargers 4th Annual Tip-Off Dinner Fundraiser begins at 5:30pm with a reception sponsored by the Vancouver Island Brewery. Guests will also be treated to a full buffet dinner, followed by Robert’s presentation and exciting live and silent auction items.Â
Tickets for the event are $150 per person and include a $75 tax receipt. Corporate tables are available.Â

All proceeds from the Tip-Off Dinner event will support the Camosun Chargers men’s and women’s basketball student-athlete scholarship fund.
