BCCAA men’s volleyball championship update

In quarter-final round action last night, the Chargers took the Royals to a grueling five set match, winning 3-2.

During the opening ceremonies of the championship, fifth-year Charger Dan Goodburn was named a BCCAA 1st Team All-Star and head coach Charles Parkinson was presented with his first BCCAA Coach of the Year award.

The Chargers jumped out to a two set advantage only to allow the Royals to come back with two sets of their own before finally putting it away in the final set.

“All year long we were led by Dan Goodburn and Brent Hall, but tonight, Aleks Saddlemeyer stepped up and put the team on his back,” stated Coach Parkinson.
Saddlemeyer led the way with an incredible 24 kills, 1 ace and 7 digs. Brent Hall added 19 kills and Dan Goodburn had 16 kills.

The Chargers advance to the semi-finals tonight, facing the #1 VIU Mariners at 8pm.
