Charger named BCCAA Athlete of the Week
Chargers Volleyball player Aleks Saddlemeyer
Aleks is in his 2nd year at Camosun College. At 6’5”, Aleks graduated from Parklands Secondary before heading to Camosun where he is enrolled in a University transfer program.
The Camosun Chargers traveled to Vancouver for matches against Capilano University and Douglas College. Stealing two wins on the road, Aleks was a huge factor in the success of the team. Friday's 3-0 win was fuelled by his solid 9 kill attack, but even more importantly by his 10 digs, the highest on the team. On Saturday, he raised his game to a new, higher level, establishing a personal best of 20 points on kills. His powerful serving consistently put the opposition in trouble and created transition opportunities, many of which he finished out of the back row. In addition, he had an amazing 7 blocks, many in one on one situations. His combined total of 27 points helped lift the Chargers to a 3-1 win and into a 3rd place tie in the standings with the Univ. of the Fraser Valley and Douglas College.
The Chargers next league match is a home stand on Friday, January 23rd vs UBC-Okanagan.
