Camosun presents a Cultural Showcase to celebrate International Week

Join Camosun College International and the Victoria Conservatory of Music for a jubilant showcase of cultural diversity and international talent 7pm Friday, March 14.

The 7th annual Cultural Showcase takes place at a new venue this year—the Alix Goolden Hall at 900 Johnson St. The family-friendly event features Mexican folk dancing, Japanese rock and pop songs, classical instrumental artists, Brazilian Bossa Nova, and much, much more!

Admission is free and donations will be accepted at the door in support of the Phelisanong Project, a community-based organization in Lesotho, South Africa. Founded in 2000 by a group of disabled and HIV positive villagers, the group has become a force for positive change in the region, helping vulnerable and disadvantaged people move from emergency to emergence.

"We are thrilled to be co-hosting this popular event with the Victoria Conservatory of Music," says Camosun International director, Geoff Wilmshurst. "We have outgrown our small campus theatre, and we are delighted move to a larger venue where we can share the talents of Camosun students with the wider community."

The Cultural Showcase is the final event of Camosun College's International Week, which features presentations, discussions and events at both college campuses from March 10 - 14. The Cultural Showcase is organized by Camosun International's student leadership group and Peer Connections, and is proudly supported by Camosun International and the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
