September 20, 2012

In recognition of World Car Free Day & Ride Share week, Camosun College will host two CAR FREE events to encourage all commuters to re-think PARKing.

The events will promote transportation alternatives by transforming a PARKing spot into a PARK for a day. Reclaiming the parking spaces for alternative uses highlights the benefits of reducing the number of single-occupant car trips to Camosun.

Bicycles, transit, ride share and walking are all solutions that can reduce congestion of roads and parking lots, and create healthy lives for all of us.

When and where

  • Lansdowne: 7:30 – 11:30am, September 26, parking lot P-6
  • Interurban: 7:30 - 11:30am, September 27, parking lot P-8

There will be prizes! There will be pancakes!

Commuters are encouraged to get in the sustainability spirit, come for breakfast and challenge their friends and colleagues to send their CAR FREE stories to cam-motion@camosun.bc.ca
