Morning
Camosun opens its doors
May 4, 2012
Over 1500 high school students, representing 16 different high schools, arrived on the Interurban campus early Thursday morning, some coming from as far north as Chemainus and Lake Cowichan.
Open House 2013 is just around the corner...
Visitors welded and hammered and built one-string electric guitars and pedaled for power and operated a crane. They did puzzles and guessing games and science experiments and planted seedlings and fired compressed air rockets…and so much more! They listened to music, learned about health care careers, found out math can be fun, cut steel with a plasma arc cutter, played biology bingo and pipe bowling, learned to read blueprints, and helped celebrate Camosun's Aboriginal Education's 20th anniversary with bannock, Cowichan knitters, art and a Traditional Medicine workshop.
Afternoon
To sum it up, they had a lot of fun while learning about Camosun’s programs and the many careers open to Camosun grads.
