Camosun's Centre for Sport and Exercise Education has opened a new teaching clinic and is seeking clients who need help recovering from various types of musculoskeletal injuries. The clinic is open from 7am-7pm, Monday to Friday at the Lansdowne Campus in Room 201 of the Wilna Thomas building.
The main services are provided by senior students in the Athletic and Exercise Therapy degree program, under direct supervision of nationally certified Athletic Therapists, Exercise Physiologists and other PhD-level faculty.
"The new clinic provides 'first in Canada' diagnostic and programmatic interventions," says Dr. Peter Rehor, dean of Camosun's Centre for Sport and Exercise Education. "We specialize in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries caused by activity, as well as those that stem from sedentary lifestyles."
The public is welcome to make an appointment at the clinic for the following:
- assessment and treatment of various types of musculoskeletal injuries
- health risk assessments
- recommendations for management in the area of chronic disease
