Student-led day of eco-conversation

Camosun College’s annual Sustainability Fair will be held at the Lansdowne campus this Thursday, April 1. The student-organized event promotes sustainability at the college and in the community, and features free food at noon, live music and a clothing swap. All proceeds go to the Madrona Farms Foundation, which is currently raising money to keep their Saanich farm in business.
“Come out for an engaging conversation and a look at all the green initiatives going on,” says Jordan Sandwith, Sustainability Director for the Camosun College Student Society. “Quite a few groups will be with us, including the Capital Regional District, the TLC, the Wilderness Committee, and various Camosun clubs looking to showcase their activity and promote student engagement in the future.”
The event features speakers from around Victoria, including Dwayne Kalynchuk, PEng., CRD director of the Core Area Wastewater Treatment Project to talk to students, faculty and staff on the topic of Innovation and Resource Recovery in our proposed sewage treatment. This event will be held at the Fisher Building courtyard throughout the day, from 9am–5pm.
Please donate your gently used clothing to the student society office, and ask how you can help out on Sustainability Day.
