Victoria Shakespeare Festival performs on the grounds of Camosun's Lansdowne campus.July 9, 2010

Enjoy an evening of Shakespeare in the park and help Camosun College students at the same time! The Victoria Shakespeare Festival returns for the sixth year with Richard III and Taming of the Shrew starting July 12 and 13, outdoors on the grounds of Camosun’s Lansdowne Campus. The first two “preview” evenings (July 12 and 13) are by donation and all proceeds go to assist Camosun English students.

On July 12, Richard III, directed by Ian Case, tells the story of Richard leading the court of England through conspiracy and murder to gain control of the crown. On July 13, Taming of the Shrew, directed by Barbara Poggemiller, explores the lives of two people who meet their match, their ensuing power struggle and the conquering power of love. Both shows run July 12 to August 21. July 12 and 13 are by donation at the door.

Tickets for all other shows available at the Mac Box Office, 250–386–6121. For info visit the Victoria Shakespeare Society.
