Healthcare education and career fair for students and grads

VIHA is hosting an education and career fair from 10am to 5pm, Monday, March 9 at SJ Willis school. This event is an opportunity to explore a range of careers, speak with potential employers and discover post secondary education choices. Over 50 traditional and related careers will be represented at the event, including:
- Registered Nurse
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Resident Care Attendant
- Laboratory Technologists & Med Lab Assistant
- Community Support Worker
- Environmental Health Officer
- Hospital Unit Clerk
- Human Resources Advisor
- Medical Office Assistant
- Electrician
- Carpenter
A number of post secondary education and training facilities, including Camosun College, will host booths at the event, and VIHA Human Resources staff will be available to answer questions about current and future employment opportunities in healthcare. Visitors will receive a link to a “Careers in Healthcare Job Catalogue” that provides a wealth of information including job summary, wages, training and experience and more.
