Have a say in the future of British Columbia. Voting is your chance to speak up about issues that affect your life. It takes just a few minutes to have a say in your future and your province.
If you are a student, you can vote in either the riding where you reside while going to school, or in the riding you usually live in when you’re not at school. It’s up to you.
Five days of voting
Advance Voting
- Open to all voters. Wednesday, May 6th to Saturday, May 9th.
- 8 am to 8 pm (local time)
General Voting
- Tuesday, May 12th
- 8 am to 8 pm (Pacific time)
Other Options
If you’re going to be out of your riding or the province during the May provincial election, you have other voting options. Contact Elections BC to find out more.
Voting is easy
You can vote if you’re 18 years of age or older, or will be 18 on General Voting Day (May 12, 2009), you’re a Canadian citizen, and a resident of B.C. for the past six months. If you’re from another province but have resided in B.C. for at least six months and consider B.C. to be your home, you’re eligible to vote in the May provincial election.
You need identification to vote
You must prove your identity and B.C. residential address to receive a ballot or register at the time of voting. Any one of the following IDs is acceptable: BC Driver’s License; B.C. Identification card; Certificate of Indian Status.

The district electoral office for the Oak Bay–Gordon Head electoral district (Camosun–Lansdowne) is located at 2533 Estevan Avenue.
