Fundraising dinner generates $30,000 for Camosun libraries

Camosun’s Love Your Learning Library campaign has reached over $175,000 following the College Foundation’s 15th annual fundraising dinner auction, Vancouver Island Fresh, which generated over $30,000, March 27.
At the dinner, Peninsula Co-op, a locally owned co-operative of gas and food service centres, also announced its support of Camosun’s libraries with a $120,000 donation. 1st Team Consulting contributed $20,000 to the cause.
More than 150 guests dined on an outstanding four-course gourmet meal of local lamb, seafood, chicken and libations expertly prepared by Camosun’s Culinary Arts students and chefs and served by the College’s Hotel/Restaurant administration students along with the Marriott culinary team.

Co-hosts Bruce Williams of ‘A’ British Columbia and David Sovka, Associate Director of College and Community Relations, entertained while guests bid on over 70 silent and live auction items donated by community businesses.
“This is always a fabulous evening and a delightful experience for our students and donors,” said Camosun Foundation Executive Director Susan Haddon.

The Camosun College Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to raising funds in support of the College’s mission and goals with emphasis on student financial support, classroom equipment, capital and research initiatives.
