Dan Goodburn top male athlete for Feb 3-10
February 13, 2008
Dan is a fourth year left-side player and captain of the Chargers. He is currently tied for the lead in the BCCAA in kills with an average of 3.98 kills per game; he is ninth in digs with an average of 1.95 digs per game and tied for 15th in aces with a 0.25 average aces per game.
This past weekend, Camosun hosted the College of New Caledonia and the UBC - Okanagan Lakers. Unable to field enough healthy players, CNC defaulted the match, leaving the Chargers to play one match on Saturday versus the Lakers.
Dan led the Chargers to a crucial 3-1 win over the fourth place Lakers. He recorded a team high of 15 kills, two blocks and eight digs in a high energy match. Dan’s deception on attack and his vast array of shots kept the Okanagan blockers and defence guessing throughout the match.
The big win against UBC-O helped the team keep their drive alive for the final playoff spot.
Next up for the Chargers is a road trip to the Fraser Valley to play the UCFV Cascades and CBC Bearcats on February 15 and 16.
