Community spirit is alive and shining bright at Camosun College this holiday season. Thanks to some imaginative staff and faculty, the idea of a growing Communi-tree hamper has taken root and is growing into a college-wide project to collect donations for our student food bank.
The project is a collaborative one: inspired by the Communi-tree concept, helper elves from Camosun’s Physical Resources department built two sturdy trees to hold donations, while Library staff elves made room for the trees at Interurban and Lansdowne libraries. Student Society elves will distribute the donated items, delivering them to students in time for Christmas break.
Now it’s your turn! Help grow our tree to its potential. Donations of un-wrapped canned goods, treats, non-perishable items, and toys are all welcome. Please direct donations of cash , cheques and gift certificates to Signi Thorleifson, for safe-keeping.
Don’t delay! Donations deadline is December 12.
Sparked by a simple idea, Camosun’s Communi-tree project is catching on and, with our help, has the potential to light up the hearts of many students this season.
