December 1 is World AIDS Day and once again, Camosun will be commemorating this day through a fund raising drive. As in previous years, Camosun raises funds for organizations that make a difference in the lives of the victims of AIDS. Last year, part of the funds collected went to the Enzigizini Informal School in Swaziland, Southern Africa. Students in the school are orphans of AIDS victims. While they may be cared for by relatives, they often do not attend school. The school was started by Sipho Mamba, a retired civil servant who has been able to run the school with the assistance of foreign donors. Funds collected last year were used to purchase some school desks. This year, we would like to raise $2,000 to help purchase school supplies.

Student volunteers from the Department of Nursing, Peer Connections and the African Awareness Club will be seeking donations from the college community on Friday, November 30 from 9am to 1pm at the Lansdowne and Interurban campuses.
