“On behalf of Camosun College I wish to extend our heartfelt thoughts and condolences to the students, employees and their families and friends at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia,” said Camosun President Dr. Liz Ashton.

“They have experienced a horrific tragedy. As a community college with similar values and ideals, I know we are all shocked by this incident and profoundly saddened.”

In light of these events, Camosun’s College Safety and Counselling Departments will hold a forum for all students and employees to discuss safety on our campuses, emergency response procedures and resources available on Tuesday, April 17 at both campuses:

Lansdowne Campus
1pm to 2pm, Library Media Centre 136

Interurban Campus
2:30pm to 3:30pm, Campus Centre 320/321

Camosun’s existing emergency response and crisis communication procedures will be shared, and students and employees are welcome to raise any questions or concerns. Camosun College Student Society representatives will also be on hand.
