April 19 at 7:30pm at the McPherson Playhouse
There are currently 30 wars in the world today.
2 million children died in the last decade.
5 million children have been disabled.
12 million have been left homeless.
More than 10 million children have been psychologically scarred.
Dr. Samantha Nutt has seen this devastation first-hand. As Founder and Executive Director of War Child Canada, she has more than a decade of experience working in the world's most violent flashpoints—including Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Liberia, and others.
On April 19 at the McPherson Playhouse, Dr. Nutt will be speaking on the impact of war and on public engagement in global issues.
Dr. Nutt is one of Canada's "Top 40 Under 40" and a member of the Maclean's Honour Roll. She is a feature writer for Maclean's Magazine covering war-related issues and frequently appears on television and radio as an expert commentator on war and its impact on civilians.
Tickets are $25 for adults or $15 for students plus surcharge. Tickets are available from the McPherson Playhouse or the Camosun Bookstore at the Lansdowne and Interurban campuses. Call 250–386–6121 to order your tickets!
