Thanks to the generosity of Camosun College employees and students, the College raised over $63,000 for the United Way last year.  This year’s Camosun campaign runs from October 20 to November 17 with a goal of $65,000.

Funds raised annually by the United Way go to help agencies, programs and services address five key community priorities:  poverty, isolation and loneliness, family stress and breakdown, violence in society and substance abuse.  The United Way helps one out of every three people in Victoria’s Capital Regional District.

Camosun kicks-off its campaign with a number of individual fundraisers including:

Camosun Bookstore “Tune for a Loon & Book for a Buck” Sale

This event runs from October 18 to November 3 at both campus Bookstores.  If you’d like to donate a book, CD or buy one, please drop by either the Interurban or Lansdowne Bookstore.  The Bookstore is also selling a bottled water/pack of gum promo pack with 100% of the proceeds to the United Way.  For more details please contact Terry Behro, 370-3084.

Pledge Forms

Camosun employees can pledge their support by filling out the United Way pledge forms in their mailboxes between October 20 and November 17.

Lose it for the United Way!

Camosun CUPE 2081 President Jerry Oetting is losing weight for the campaign!  You can support Jerry and the United Way by pledging your dollars per pounds lost!  The official “weigh-out” is set for 12noon on November 17 in front of the United Way sign at Lansdowne’s hub.  For more details, please contact Ken Whitehead at 370-4606.
