Awards and Scholarships

Want financial help for your education?

The Centre for Sport and Exercise Education, in partnership with the Camosun College Foundation, offers a series of awards to our outstanding students. Camosun also offers a wide selection of bursaries for full-time students.

Please note that some awards/scholarships require that you to apply or be nominated, while others GPA-based. It is important to read the individual criteria and application forms for detailed information regarding submission and application requirements.

You can apply for more than one award on a single application form. Please review the criteria of the award(s) for which you are applying and make sure you gather and include all necessary letters, essays, and/or documents. There will be an opportunity in the application form to provide uploaded documents for award criteria purposes.

If you have any questions about the award(s) you are applying to, please contact your Program Leader.

The Centre for Sport and Exercise Education Administration Office will notify the recipients of their award/scholarship May 2021. Recipient names and qualifying information will be shared with Camosun College Foundation and the donor(s) associated with the bursary.

AET Clinic Award - Athletic & Exercise Therapy

Awarded to a CSEE student who has concluded their 4th year of study in the Bachelor of Athletic & Exercise Therapy program, who has successfully completed clinical placement in the AET Clinic. Note: Apply prior to completion of the program .

AET Clinic Award - Sport & Fitness Leadership

Awarded to a CSEE student who has concluded their 4th year of study in either the Bachelor of Sport & Fitness Leadership or Bachelor of Sport Management program, who has successfully completed an internship in the AET Clinic. Note: Apply prior to completion of the program

CATA Student Leadership Award

Awarded to a second year (or higher) student in the Bachelor of Athletic & Exercise Therapy (BAET) program who is a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and a member of a designated regional chapter and has maintained his/her status. The recipient is selected by the Program Faculty based on the student's external outreach, internal participation and leadership.

BAET students, second year or higher, and member of CATA.

Canadian Federation of University Women, Victoria Chapter - Doreen Sutherland Award in Sport & Exercise

In memory of long-time member, Doreen Sutherland, the purpose of this gift is to encourage women to pursue careers in sport and exercise by providing an award to a female student in good standing studying in any program offered by the Centre for Sport and Exercise Education. Preference will be given to an Indigenous female student whenever possible.

Awarded to a student who has exhibited leadership and initiative in a CSEE program, while also demonstrating a clear commitment to creating spirit and engagement in the promotion of athletics and sport education within the college and in the community.

CSEE Tourism Victoria Award

This Fund was established by the Centre for Sport and Exercise Education and Tourism Victoria in celebration of the 2018 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship held at Camosun College.

This award is to recognize a Camosun College student or student group who has exhibited leadership, initiative and creativity in the promotion of athletics or sport education within Victoria.

CSEP 2016 “From Health to High Performance” Legacy Award - Two Award Recipients

Awarded to two CSEE students who have completed a minimum of two years of full-time study (or equivalent) in the BSFL-EXW or BAET programs who demonstrate their intent to pursue and/or maintain CSEP certification, or demonstrate past involvement with CSEP like activities, and or articulate how CSEP certification will assist in their future endeavors. Proof of payment of costs associated with CSEP certified exams, CSEP membership or other CSEP activities are required.
