COVID Safety Training & Screening - for Students

It is important to Camosun College that all students, staff and faculty stay health and safe during this challenging time. Maintaining a safe learning environment and reducing the spread of COVID-19 is both an individual and a shared responsibility.

All  students must complete a COVID-19 self-assessment each day they visit campus.

Use the BC COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool at home before attending campus.

  1. Complete the online COVID-19 Safety Training: Student COVID-19 Safety Training (10-20 min), including:
    • COVID-19 Initial Symptoms Self-Assessment Questionnaire
      • At the end of the training you will be asked to provide your Name, Student Number (C#) and Email Address.
Important Be sure that the information entered into these fields is correct for a record of completion.
    • Declaration Form
      • The final slide contains 3 declaration/informed consent questions for you to acknowledge. These must also be ‘checked-off’ in order to complete the training.
  2. Save a copy of your completion certificate:
    • Check email inbox for email confirmation of training completion
    • Select ‘print’ in the top right corner to print to PDF
    • Save a PDF copy of certificate for your records

Students enrolled in a course with an on-campus or face-to-face component are required to complete the COVID-19 Safety Training and Initial Symptoms Self-Assessment. There are knowledge testing questions throughout the training to support learning. Students who complete the training and declaration form  will recieve a certificate of completion by email.

Students coming to campus for specific services are encourged to complete the Safety Training.

If the student receives the message “You don’t appear to have symptoms of COVID-19” then that student is permitted to attend campus. If the student receives any other message, they are not permitted to attend campus. It is strongly recommended they follow the advice provided in the Self-Assessment Tool.

Students will not be academically penalized for any absences related to COVID-19 symptoms.
