The faculty development team helps faculty and instructors develop educational practices that put learning first. We provide learning opportunities and support for instructors, including workshops, resources, and community-building.
New to teaching at Camosun
Welcome to Camosun College! As you begin teaching, your department will provide you with administrative support. You may also receive course outlines and resources, as well as information about a mentor, buddy or contact to support you in your teaching. However, you may still have questions about how to teach effectively and develop your teaching style.
The Faculty Showcase is an annual publication that features stories of exemplary professional, scholarly and creative activities undertaken by instructors during their scheduled development time.
Teaching tools and resources
This area shares the depth of expertise and collaboration present at the college. As we continue to work with departments and faculty on initiatives, projects and events to share and develop our teaching practices, we gather information and resources that reflect our college as a community of practice.
Communities of Practice
A community of practice is an opportunity to build community and engage at the edge of your teaching and learning potential. If you have a passion for what you do and want to interact regularly with a team of colleagues around a common interest, then this is for you.
Chairs and Program Leaders
CETL supports the development of Chairs and Program Leaders at Camosun in a variety of ways, including hosting an annual Chairs' Exchange, the biennial Chairs' Institute and just-in-time workshops and webinars.
