Committees

Camosun College is a public post-secondary institution. The Board of Governors administers the college on behalf of the government of B.C. and the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, as legislated by the College and Institute Act.

Committees

The board has three standing committees. Only the board in its entirety can make board decisions. The committees assist the board in decision-making by bringing recommendations.

Executive committee

The executive committee makes recommendations to the board in the areas of the board's role, student appeals, policy proposals, emergency situations, and establishing ad hoc committees.

Terms of reference

Finance committee

The finance committee is responsible for significant financial planning, managing and reporting matters for the college.

The committee makes recommendations to the board in the areas of the annual operating and capital budgets, the annual financial information act requirements, and the tuition fee increases.

Risk and audit committee

The purpose of the board audit committee is to assist the board to fulfill its financial accountability and oversight responsibilities.

  • Cybersecurity Sub-Committee
    The Cybersecurity Sub-Committee is a sub-committee of the Board of Governors Audit Committee.  They are responsible for assisting the Board of Governors in fulfilling its enterprise risk management oversight by monitoring the college’s cybersecurity risk mitigation policies and strategies.
